The Department of Research Safety partners with the University of Kentucky research community to advance safe, innovative, and impactful research. We provide comprehensive safety and compliance support for research and teaching laboratories working with biological, chemical, radiological, and other research-related hazards. 

Our team is committed to delivering responsive, collaborative, and practical support that helps researchers focus on discovery while maintaining a strong culture of safety and compliance. Through close partnerships with faculty, staff, students, and research leadership, we work to develop solutions that are efficient, effective, and tailored to the evolving needs of UK’s research enterprise.
